Enabling TWS to Accept Connections
by Louis on Oct. 26th, 2005 in How To's Articles
By default, TWS does not accept connections from outside programs. This article tells you how to enable TWS to accept connection from NeoTicker®.
Open TWS. You can do this by double clicking the Trader Workstation 4.0 icon on your desktop.
You will be asked for an user name and password. Enter your IB user name and password here.
In TWS, enable the following options under Configure>API:
- Configure>API>Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients
- Configure>API>Enable DDE Clients
- Configure>API>Download Open Orders on Connection
- Configure>API>Fire openOrder on status’ change
In TWS choose File>Exit. This will put your settings into effect.
That’s all. NeoTicker® is now ready to talk to TWS.

Hi,
Does IB has the S&P 500 Symbors feed which could activate Neo Ticker’s RSI Oversold and overbougth indicator?
Thanks
IB can handle a small number of symbols in real-time. It is not designed for heavy duty data streaming.
