Case study: Add Chart Indicator Alert
This is a step by step example shows how to add alert in a chart that triggers when color of an indicator change according to color formula rule “Up Down” in color tab.
“Up Down” coloring rule change indicator plot color to up color when indicator trun up (current greater than previous) and change to down color when indicator turn down (current less than previous).
It requires two seperate alerts one for up and another for down, to monitor color change of indicator plot.
We start with a 5 minute SPY chart with colored MACD plot in pane 2. Right click on the chart and select Add Alert from the popup menu, then Alert Edit will show up.
Fill in the following settings:
This complete the setup for the alert itself, next we will move on to Auto Reset tab.
Select Symbol when alert condition is reversed.
This complete the up alert setup, check on Enabled checkbox to start the alert tracking.
For down alert reverse alert formula in conditon (i.e. I1 < I1(1)) field, keep all other settings same as up alert to create the down alert. To see all alert within a chart right click on the chart and select Alert List from popup menu. I have attached the example chart with both up/down alert. To use export group, download export file use Group> Import package to import example alert group.
