Many IQFeed users have experienced various usage issues like real-time streaming data slowness, and drastic increase in memory usage. The cause of these problems is rooted in the IQFeed Data Server not being able to process the flood of incoming data into NeoTicker as the amount of real-time market data has grown significantly in the last 12 months.

As many of you already know, we have revised eSignal data processing in the latest builds to address this issue.

We now have completed the revision in the IQFeed data server to take care of the same issue.

It is now available in NeoTicker 4.20 Build 26.

Please upgrade to this new release as soon as possible, if you

1. use IQFeed to track more than 50 symbols, or
2. download tick data from IQFeed, or
3. download a lot of minute data (100+ days) per symbol

New Features

Bug Fixes

– using time frame definition with one locale while the holiday list is based on a different locale can affect compress series methods in indicators, ocassionally leading to hang
– in Indicator List Manager, choosing the popup menu item “Manage …” leads to crash
– Time Chart>Copy to New Window – the new window will not have the description/name of the instrument showing in the legend, until after a reload of the chart
– Time Chart – switching from daily bar to weekly bar for some non real-time data source will strip the description/name of the instrument
– Superposition Data sync stuck on a particular bar in real-time due to an introduced bug in the memory conservation algorithm added in build 17
– Superposition initial reload too CPU intensive leading to disconnect of data feed
– System Performance Viewer Equity Change Distribution by Duration not working properly with daytrading system
– eSignal real-time symbols disconnected cannot be automatically reconnected, introduced in build 23

If you trade emini ES, NQ, YM, etc. please read the guide line and understand the procedures. There has been no limit down events for several years and only one single limit down event on NQ in 2007. Make sure you know the implications.

We received multiple updates from various data vendors that the mini-size Dow future (i.e. YM) will no longer be available without exchange fees. To complicate things further, YM will move to the globex platform during Jan-Feb period, making it unclear which exchange (CME or CBOT) should a trader subscribe to in order to receive the necessary real-time data.

Please check with your data vendor to find out what you have to do to continue receiving real-time YM data without disruption.
