This article tells you how to installed Interactive Brokers’ Trader Workstation Software (TWS) on your computer. NeoTicker® can use TWS both as a data feed, and can place orders to IB through TWS.

Interactive Brokers'(IB) Trader Workstation Software (TWS) is IB’s main software. It must be running when NeoTicker® is working with IB.

IB offers different versions TWS. Even if you are an IB client, it is suggested you go through the steps here to have the latest IB software on your computer for NeoTicker® to work with.

Step 1: Downloading and Installing TWS

You can download TWS installation program from IB’s website.

In IB’s website, select Software>Trader Workstation>Software, IB’s Trader Workstation page will be opened.

What you need is the standalone version of TWS. You will need the Windows version, so press the Windows Download button.

Follow IB’s instructions to download the installation program to your hard drive.

Step 2: Installation Failed (Java Problems)

If TWS installation program complains about requiring Java, it means Java is not installed on your computer.

You can install Java from:

• TWS download page (in Step 1). Scroll down to the bottom and click on the Download Java Plugin button, OR
• Go to Installing Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

Step 3: Installation Successful
Go to Enabling TWS To Accept Connections.
