Many European countries have their Daylight Saving Time (DST) finish on coming Sunday, October 26.
In North Amercia, DST finish 1 week after, on Sunday November 2.
We’ve been working on many areas to improve NeoTicker. Many new features and rewrite of some existing ones will be rolled out in the near future.
For example,
1. Trading system backtesting through tick replay – a completely new way to backtest your trading system with tick data resolution and precision control
2. New brokerage connectivity – we are working on the support of several brokerages
3. System performance files save/load – currently it takes a lot of memory to save and load the performance data. We’ve completely rewritten this part of the program and the performance gain is remarkable.
4. Compatibility with Office 2007 – Excel 2007 has made some changes in its way of communicating with RTD servers. We’ve rewritten our RTD server to better support this version of Excel.
Open E Cry will require all real account users to upgrade their OEC Trader software to the latest version 3.2.0.0 by this weekend.
After the mandatory upgrade is done, set your OEC Order Server to use API version 3.2.0.0, so that NeoTicker can connect to OEC production servers properly.

Monday, May 19, 2008 is a Canadian holiday. We will have limited support staff working on that day.
After intensive review of the new OEC API and testing of its new capabilities, it is obvious that it has a lot of advantages over the current API releases. That warrants our effort to rewrite the existing OEC Order Server to support all these exciting new features.
As the new OEC API will not be going into their production server yet, we will work with their API and Sim servers for now and have the new OEC Order Server ready for their production release.
A highlight of the new features available from OEC,
– faster and more stable historical data download
– more efficient quote delivery
– ability to run OEC Trader side by side with NeoTicker
Open E Cry has enforced a mandatory update of their software on both API account and Sim account. NeoTicker users using those accounts will have trouble working with OEC historical data.
We will release a new version of OEC Order Server to address this issue.
For OEC real account holders, there is no update to your OEC Trader software as of this point in time.
If you start NeoTicker and find out the historical tick data requested does not look right, close the eSignal Data Manager manually. NeoTicker will restart eSignal Data Manager automatically. You can check your charts again to see if the problem is taken care of. For some situation, you may want to use F11 to repair data in a chart. The problem seems to be very specific and happens only on some servers. eSignal mentioned in their forum that they may take those servers offline to restore the database properly.
